Uta Naumann was born in the beautiful baroque city of Dresden and spent most of her life there. Floral motifs and colors are the basis and inspiration for her work. She loves romantic vintage designs and the glory of the past. For many years Uta has collected books with antique illustrations, drawings of historic pharmacist plants, lush tropical plants, and roses.

Uta describes her approach to pattern design as drifting. The result of the creation is usually not predictable at the beginning of the work. In the end, she adds different backgrounds to the liquid compositions of colors and motifs to create variations of entirely new patterns. Uta Naumann is also devoted to creating illustrations. Here, she plays with different techniques, styles, colors, and textures.
